Tour Details

On this Spectacular Switzerland tour, you’ll enjoy Switzerland’s stunning mountains and lakes—with overnights in Zürich, Geneva, the Gruyėre area, Grindelwald, and Lucerne. The highlight of this tour is the time spent in the mountain resort of Grindelwald, in the vicinity of three mighty mountains: Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Globus has arranged an unforgettable rack railway trip to the “Top of Europe,” a high Alpine wonderland of ice and snow. Here, at the amazing Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest railway station at 11,332 feet, you can enjoy the Alpine Sensation, the Panorama 360° Experience, the Ice Palace, and you can also take the elevator to the Sphinx Observatory. Don’t forget to pick up your souvenir “Jungfrau passport”… it’s an unforgettable experience!

Another special highlight arranged by us is a visit to the magnificent castle in Gruyères, where you’ll walk through eight centuries of architecture, history, and culture. You’ll also enjoy lunch with local specialties and a traditional dessert of meringue and double crème in Gruyères.

Enjoy the time spent in Geneva, Switzerland’s most international and second-largest city, which has a fantastic lakeside setting and breathtaking panoramas of the Alps. Here, you’ll have guided sightseeing of the city and a visit to the Reformation Park. Enjoy a chocolate tasting at the famous Maison Cailler in Broc, and stop for an orientation in Gstaad, one of Switzerland’s most famous skiing resorts and a popular destination for international celebrities. A walking tour in Lucerne includes Chapel Bridge, a picturesque covered wooden bridge and the impressive Lion Monument.

These are just a few of the highlights on this Spectacular Switzerland tour. It’s a vacation of a lifetime!Selected departures can join cruise WZA “Romantic Rhine”

You’ll quickly discover that Switzerland isn’t just home to the Alps, but also to some of the most beautiful lakes. First, stop at the foot of the Jura Mountains in the picturesque town of Biel, known as Bienne by French-speaking Swiss and famous for watch making. Explore the HISTORICAL CENTER and take a scenic drive to lakeside Neuchâtel, dominated by the medieval cathedral and castle. Time to stroll along the beautiful lake promenade before continuing to stunning Geneva, the second-largest city in Switzerland, with its fantastic lakeside location and breathtaking panoramas of the Alps.

Day 3GENEVA

During your guided sightseeing, see the elegant buildings that house many international organizations, including headquarters of the International Red Cross and many United Nations agencies. Enter France and follow Lake Geneva along the southern shore to the famous spa town of Évian-les-Bains, a popular holiday resort renowned for its mineral water. Return to Switzerland, and cross the Rhône River, that originates in the Swiss Alps, to become France’s largest river, eventually flowing into the Mediterranean Sea. See the vineyards, where some of the best Swiss wines are produced, then leave this “Swiss Riviera” and continue to Gruyères for [LF] a visit of the magnificent CASTLE. Walk through eight centuries of architecture, history, and culture, and enjoy lunch with local specialties and a traditional dessert with meringue and double crème. An extra treat is a LF stop in Broc for a visit to MAISON CAILLER chocolate factory to taste this delicious Swiss specialty. Continue to your comfortable hotel in nearby Charmey. (B,L,D)
